DAVID GRAY - CV
David has been climbing in the hills and mountains since he was a teenager. Their untamed wildness has been the perfect complement to his lifelong work as a writer. Formerly a newspaper journalist and now freelancing in features, his articles have appeared in hillwalking, travel and ecology magazines.
He believes Scotland has one of the most awe inspiring landscapes anywhere in the world. The variety of form in such a compact country combined with unpredictable weather means no two climbs are ever the same. His attempts to convince his more urban-loving friends have even persuaded some of them to join him.
At home on Scotland's highest peaks, he has also climbed in the French Pyrénées, including the Canigou massif (pictured), and in the Swiss Alps around Zermatt.
David has lived close to the Lammermuir hills for over a decade, and launched Lammermuir Tours to bring this remarkable range to a wider audience. He hopes his enthusiasm for these beautiful hills will encourage more people to enjoy their unique and unforgettable character.
